I am writing this blog with lovely, bright sunshine outside. We have not quite reached summer temperatures but I do think that a bit of sunshine does make you feel better. Let us hope that the temperatures start rising soon so that we can actually enjoy sitting out in the sunshine without having to layer up.

It is great that Covid rates have really dropped, the vaccine programme is going really well and that we are starting to get back some sort of normality in our social lives but I do need to remind you all that we are still in a pandemic and we still need to follow the strict guidelines as set out by the government. This includes going for a Covid test if you or any of your family display one of the main symptoms of Covid which are:

·         A high temperature

·         A new continuous cough

·         A change to your sense of smell or taste.

We have had a few people ringing up telling us that they are keeping their children off with one of these symptoms and not getting their child tested. Rates have dramatically dropped and we want them to stay that way and that will not happen if we do not adhere strictly to the guidelines. May I also remind you that the whole household has to isolate until that member has received their test result.

I have some sad news to share with you. After being with the school for nearly six years Mrs Smith, our school business manager, is leaving us. We are very sad to be losing her but I am sure that you will join me in thanking her for everything she has done for the school and wishing her every success in her new position. Hopefully, she will not be a stranger and you may see her again when she drops in to see us.

That is all for now. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I look forward to seeing you all next week.
