The week has passed by in a whirl –it does not feel like two minutes since I was writing my last blog and yet a week has passed and here we are at the end of term. If the next term passes as quickly as this one has, it will be summer before we know it. I must admit that I am longing for summer weather because I am really fed up of all this rain –it has really had a negative impact on our sporting programme as well as my general outlook.

This week in school has been dominated by the performance of ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’. It has proven to be a wonderful show and has been raved about by all those who have watched it. I am very proud of all the children and I would like to thank all the Year 3, 4 and 5 staff for all their efforts in putting the show together –all their efforts have certainly been worthwhile. I would also like to thank the PTA and all the parents who supported them for providing refreshments during the interval. Their constant support of the school is much appreciated as their fundraising makes a huge difference to the resources that we have to support your child’s learning.

Every time we put on a performance, as we do not charge for watching the show, we always choose a charity to support and this year we decided to keep it local and support the ‘Potters Bar Food Bank’. We managed to collect an impressive £207.25 which I know the charity will really appreciate. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our collection.

Year 2 also had a special event on this week as they had a ‘Fire of London’ day in school. It was a lovely event for them but it was made possible by a large number of parents volunteering to support it. I would like to thank all the parents who did help out and make this day possible for the children. Days like this make learning so much more enjoyable for the children and because they enjoy it so much they retain the information for a very long time which enhances their learning.

We now have a 2 week break to look forward to. I hope you all have a good holiday and come back feeling refreshed and re-energised and looking forward to the new term ahead which starts on Tuesday, 18th April.
